Website Description : Dillard University is a four year liberal arts historically Black university located in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dillard is Louisiana's first HBCU, born out of the union of Straight College and New Orleans University both founded in 1869. Dillard has the distinction of awarding Louisiana's first baccalaureate in nursing in the state, the HBCU with the oldest degree-awarding theater program, and Dillard also has the distinction of being a founding member of the UNCF (United Negro College Fund). The seventh president of Dillard is Dr. Walter M. Kimbrough. The University awards degrees from its colleges of Nursing, Arts and Sciences and Business.
